Navigating Life's Transitions
Change can be scary. Even when we know something isn’t working—when we feel stuck in a job, habit or lifestyle that no longer brings us joy—it still can be incredibly hard to take the leap into the unknown. We might feel trapped, dissatisfied, and uncertain, yet paralysed by the fear of what might happen if we do try to change.
As a therapist, I’ve helped many people through these difficult transitions. Whether it's changing careers, making lifestyle changes, or taking control of a life has lost direction, a combined therapeutic approach using hypnotherapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) can offer powerful support.
Why Do Transitions Feel So Difficult?
When you’re contemplating change, it’s natural to feel anxiety. Your brain is wired to seek safety and predictability, even if that safety comes at the cost of your happiness. The fear of the unknown can feel larger than the pain of staying where you are.
People often describe a sense of being “stuck”—knowing they want something different but unable to break free from patterns of thought or behaviour that keeps them in the same place.

🧠CBT: Challenging Limiting Thoughts and Behaviours
CBT helps you identify the unhelpful behaviours and thinking patterns that are holding you back—like catastrophising, self-doubt, or “all-or-nothing” thinking. Together, we explore new, more balanced ways of looking at your situation and develop practical strategies to help you take those first small steps forward. Hypnosis can then help you put these new pattern into practice.
🌿 ACT: Embracing Change with Purpose
ACT offers a powerful shift in perspective: instead of trying to eliminate discomfort or fear, you learn how to accept it and move forward anyway, guided by your values. It’s not about forcing positivity—it’s about discovering what truly matters to you and committing to actions that align with the life you want to create.
